Design of Experiments, DOE

Design of Experiments (DOE) is a simple way to not only accelerate but also optimize the process of acquiring knowledge while minimizing the costs of learning. In a world of complex processes and changing conditions, DOE allows for a structured way to test hypotheses, verify assumptions, and reduce uncertainty. It’s not just science—it’s a competitive advantage.

introduction

Design of Experiments

Knowledge is the key to success in every field – only with it can we be innovative, competitive, and achieve our business goals. Learning can be a complex, time-consuming, and expensive process. It can, but it doesn’t have to be. To be successful, you need to know how to learn! This skill is the foundation for improving current processes and products, as well as designing new, more advanced products that meet specific requirements.

The DOE training we offer demonstrates how to effectively plan, conduct, and analyze experiments, and how to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. It is designed so that even someone without a statistical background can easily apply the information they gain in their daily work.

The DOE Experiment Planning Workshops last three days and are led by experienced trainers with Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification.

Experiment planning methods

What is DOE?

DOE (Design of Experiments) is a methodical approach to planning experiments that allows us to identify factors that significantly influence the outcome of a process, product, or system. Unlike random tests or isolated trials, DOE enables us to design experiments in an organized and cost-effective manner, minimizing the number of trials required and maximizing the value of the information we gain from them. This approach is particularly useful in industrial environments, R&D, and in the design of new solutions.

Benefits of DOE training

Applying experiment planning methods translates directly into tangible benefits: shorter testing times, lower costs, and more accurate decisions. Participants in this training will learn how to thoughtfully collect data that truly matters. They will also acquire the skills needed to interpret results without having to guess or rely on intuition. The knowledge acquired during this training increases the effectiveness of engineering, quality, and implementation teams.

DOE training

Who is the DOE training for?

This training is designed for specialists and managers responsible for process development, optimization, or stabilization. It’s ideal for those working in areas such as research and development, quality, production, technology, automation, and continuous improvement. Regardless of the industry, if your work involves data analysis or test-based decision-making, experiment planning methods will help you work faster and more effectively.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about DOE training

Is DOE training suitable for people without statistical experience?

Yes. The training program is designed so that participants can learn the material even without prior mathematical training. All concepts are explained through practical examples, and theory is kept to a minimum.

Does the training cover specific methods for planning experiments?

Of course. Participants will learn about full-factorial and fractional experiments. They will also learn how to choose the appropriate strategy depending on the study's goal.

Do I need access to Monitor to benefit from the training knowledge?

No. Minitab is used during training as one of the possible analytical tools, but the knowledge and methodology acquired can also be successfully applied using Excel or other solutions – what matters is the understanding of the DOE logic, not the specific software.
