Six Sigma Yellow Belt – what is it?
Completing Yellow Belt training provides an understanding of the basic concepts and tools necessary for process optimization and problem-solving. Understanding variation and its impact on cause-and-effect relationships, along with the broad tools of Statistical Process Control, allows you to take your first steps in process improvement. The ability to verify measurement systems and monitor results will allow you to assess the current state, while process mapping skills will allow you to document existing knowledge and design effective sampling plans that will identify dominant sources of variation and the presence of potential systematic effects. Six Sigma Yellow Belt training provides the foundation for beginning your Six Sigma journey.

What does Six Sigma Yellow Belt training look like?
OpEx Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a three-day workshop during which, after learning the essential theory, participants explore new concepts and practice newly learned tools through simulations and group exercises. Numerous examples illustrate the possibilities and potential benefits of their application.
Training participants gain not only theoretical knowledge but, above all, practical skills that they can immediately apply in their daily work. Thanks to consultations with the trainer during the training, participants are able to plan the first steps they need to take to apply their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
Our workshops are based not on the DMAIC methodology, but on Deming’s PDCA cycle. However, during the workshops, we demonstrate how to integrate the presented problem-solving tools into the framework of both cycles.
Who is Yellow Belt training for?
Yellow Belt training is for individuals striving to continuously improve their production or service processes, including process engineers, quality engineers, technologists, leaders, and managers. Upon completion, you will be able to not only become a member of a process improvement team within your organization but also support Green Belts in their project work.
Completion of the White Belt level is not required to participate in this training, as the program also covers this area. The same applies to the Green Belt level – you do not need a Yellow Belt certificate to participate in these workshops.
Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
Participation in the workshops concludes with a certificate of completion, while the Yellow Belt certification requires demonstrating practical skills in using Six Sigma tools within the organization. We don’t require a single, complex project—it can be several smaller projects, the results of which should be presented in a short summary.
After reviewing the project, the Six Sigma Master Black Belt contacts the participant for a short interview. The Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification issued by OpEx Grup is recognized worldwide and provides an excellent foundation for beginning your Six Sigma journey.
Yellow Belt Course – what’s next?
If you’ve completed the Yellow Belt workshop and want to expand your Six Sigma knowledge, we invite you to our Six Sigma Green Belt and Six Sigma Black Belt programs. We also offer training based on the Lean Six Sigma approach at the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt levels.
